Description
Summary:A fundamental task associated with the use of error-correcting codes is recovering the original codeword from the corrupted received word. In this paper we develop a simulation program for the Reed-Solomon codes with an error correction capability of [(n-k)/2]. Three RS codes are chosen to be simulated using MATLAB with Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) scheme in AWGN channel. The Symbol Error Rate (SER) performance was evaluated and compared with its theoretical calculations. ©2009 IEEE.
