Summary: | This paper presents the design of a compact UHF-RFID tag antenna with several miniaturization techniques including meandering technique and capacitive tip-loading structure. Additionally, T-matching technique is also utilized in the antenna design for impedance matching. This antenna was designed on Rogers 5880 printed circuit board (PCB) with the dimension of 43 × 26 × 0.787 mm3 and relative permittivity, □r of 2.2. The performance of the proposed antenna was analyzed in terms of matched impedance, antenna gain, return loss and tag reading range through the simulation in CST Microwave Studio software. As a result, the proposed antenna obtained a gain of 0.97dB and a maximum reading range of 5.15 m at 921 MHz. © 2013 IEEE. |
