Design of a reconfigurable bandpass filter based on dual-band dual behavior resonator

The design of a reconfigurable dual-band Dual Behavior Resonator (DBR) is presented. It is based on the use PIN diodes to select one passband among the three available with such a topology. The filter to be designed is aimed at addressing one GSM-band (1.8 GHz), one UMTS-band (2.1 GHz) and one Wi-Fi...

Description
Summary:The design of a reconfigurable dual-band Dual Behavior Resonator (DBR) is presented. It is based on the use PIN diodes to select one passband among the three available with such a topology. The filter to be designed is aimed at addressing one GSM-band (1.8 GHz), one UMTS-band (2.1 GHz) and one Wi-Fi-band (2.45 GHz). Demonstrators were designed and realized in microstrip technology using lumped and distributed components. Experiments are presented to validate the proposed concepts. © 2014 IEEE.
