This paper focuses on the possibilities of using a mobile application and geofencing technique as a social distancing mechanism in developing a smart queueing system (SmartQ) for multi-organizations in the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in Melaka. The use of digital ticketing system, model for queueing, the relationship between geofencing technique, and social distancing practice are presented and discussed. The problem concerning the social distancing at the public area when involving in the queueing system at UTC Melaka. A conceptual model of the smart queueing application is designed. © 2023 Author(s).
