Description
Summary:Cultivated meat is a promising but complicated technology that promises to solve the negative externalities of livestock agriculture. The technology poses ethical and religious dilemmas requiring solutions through modification of the technology or more advanced public and scholarly debate. At the same time, the field is advancing rapidly with products entering the market in the next one to two years. The Muslim community seems to accept cultivated meat similarly to non-Muslims, provided that it can be considered halal. © 2023 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
