总结:App Based Participatory Irrigation Management (APP-PIM) has a major economic impact to develop Malaysia. The irrigation infrastructure has been designed with immense investment and it is critical that appropriate non-structural measures are to be applied for resourceful irrigation management. Systematic and scientific approaches for operation of irrigation systems are mandatory to be developed and implemented in practice. Internet has become an important element of human life, that significantly offers information access and sharing. In this modern scientific and technological age, water would cause conflict between domestic, industrial and agricultural use. The theory of PIM is accepted well in the globe as an instrument to improve irrigation management. A 3—tier architecture framework was designed and employed to create the APP-PIM model. APP-PIM is a Web Based Decision Support System (DSS) model outlined to assist all the user groups in irrigation management to support decision makers on the issues concerned to irrigation management. Malaysia is a developing country and the institutional mechanisms of filling the digital divide between the urban and rural are weak. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
