要約:The purpose of this research is to obtain optimal activation conditions for activated carbon prepared from corncob (CC) using response surface methodology (RSM). Central composite design (CCD) was used to determine the properties of the three preparation variables; activation temperature, activation time and KOH: char impregnation ratio (IR) on Corncob Activated Carbon (CAC) yield and percentage of Zn (II) removal. Based on the CCD, two quadratic models were developed for both responses. The most influential factor on each experimental design response was identified from the analysis of variance (ANOVA). The optimum conditions obtained for preparing the CAC were activation temperature 797°C, activation time 3.0 h and IR of 3.5. © 2016 Author(s).
