要約: | This paper presents a study on the passing distance length for actual traffic flow on a sections of two-way two-lane roads. The values of passing locate remove prescribed by street plan rulebooks in hypothetical demonstrate and proposals are regularly not reliable with the length of passing separate which happens within the real activity stream. This situation may not be safe in situations where the overtaking distance required is more than the minimum passing sight distance calculated from the theoretical model. The main objective of this study is to analyze the measured passing distance and compare with the established theoretical models. The data of overtaking maneouvres were recorded by using video camera. The data was analyzed by using Microsoft Excel and Minitab 16 software to define the relationship between independent parameters such as the speed of overtaken vehicle with the various overtaking parameters. Subsequently, from the information collected it can be concluded that the passing distance in actual traffic flow are essentially shorter than the values that gotten by numerical theory models. It is recommended that further studies be carried out for other locations such as on the two-way two-lane carriageway roads, at intersection areas, at curves or at junctions. © 2020 IEEE.
