要約:In the Industry 4.0 era, IoT integration has become crucial for businesses to stay competitive, especially in warehouse operations. Despite this, many Malaysian Automotive SMEs still rely on manual processes, leading to inefficiencies like underutilized manpower and excess inventory. This paper presents a study focusing on designing and implementing a custom IoT system for automotive warehouse operations. The system combines Google's web-based tools which are Google Sheets, AppSheet, and Looker Studio in order to optimize inventory and warehouse management processes. Case studies across three automotive factory warehouses demonstrate the system's effectiveness, showing significant improvements with 45% reduction in order processing time, and 21% decrease in space occupancy with real-time status updates for operations. The successful IoT system implementation highlights its potential to transform traditional warehouse practices in the automotive industry. From these findings, a comprehensive framework has been developed as a reference guide for future IoT initiatives, offering insights and best practices to optimize competitiveness in the evolving landscape of Industry 4.0.
