Summary: | Malaysia palm oil industry is contributing significantly to support the country’s economy growth. Nevertheless, the sustainability of the industry has always been questioned with claims on deforestation and child labor. The Government agencies therefore has encouraged the stakeholders to adopting the industrial revolution 4.0 concept, including internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence, digitization, and automation to replace the current practices. Technological application is foreseen to improve the supply chain management, with greener and higher efficiency in the operation. However, there are challenges hindered the successful application of technologies. The present review aims to discuss challenges faced by the supply chain management in relation to technological adoption, with potential solutions to address them, being proposed. This review serves as reference to the relevant stakeholders, for in-depth understanding of challenges, for formulating effective strategies to resolve these challenges.
